Making piston board

…WORK IN PROGRESS…

Making thin piston board to fit it between keyboards while keeping standard organ dimensions is not possible without specially designed backlight buttons. No matter how hard I’ve tried to find some good buttons with backlight, I did not succeed.

Well, I did have found short buttons but they are without backlight. And not so short anyway. Here is what it looked like at 8mm plywood plank:

The best solution I’ve found is to combine tact LED buttons with the part of regular buttons I had.

Here are the ingredients:

Ordinary button

These are tact button PCB with address soldering joint (I’be made it to simplify PCB making and wiring)

Controller PCB to talk to the main board

Tact buttons with integrated LED

Some diodes, resistors and capacitors.

The first thing to do is to cut the buttons.
